FEARFUL DOG HOMESCHOOL PROGRAM

Homeschool training allows me to do the heavy lifting for you.

Through my daily professional hands-on training, I can take on much of the day-to-day training work while helping you learn how to support your dog between my training sessions. Because your dog relies on you to help them build a safe environment, trust, and confidence, I'll transfer what I have taught your dog over to you so you can continue to make meaningful progress once my training is done.

Homeschool training may be a good fit if your dog is:

  • Shy or lacking confidence, but interested in engaging and learning

  • In need of socialization and real-world exposure

  • Struggling with a specific fearful trigger but able to recover relatively quickly

  • If you are someone who already has experience using fear-free, reward-based training methods

Note: Because most of my training will be without you present, the homeschool training program is not ideal for dogs who have extreme fear, specifically toward strangers. If this is the case, Coaching  is a better option for you and your dog.

Every dog’s journey is different. Progress depends on many factors. Lasting behavior change does not happen overnight, but with consistency, patience, and the right guidance, meaningful improvement is possible.

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

  • 30-60-minute in person sessions. Depending on your dog’s fear level and the focus of training, I may train in your home, around the neighborhood, or take your dog to a location that provides the appropriate environmental set up needed for training.

  • Canine expertise - Between sessions, I'll provide professional support and feedback. I encourage you to send videos of your dog’s behavior so we can troubleshoot challenges, celebrate successes, and continue building your dog's confidence.

  • Supportive materials – Each day that I train I will send you a video from our training session.  We will review these videos as needed at our transfer session for body language and responses that your dog has to the learning process.

  • Unlimited support -Your support doesn’t end when sessions are over. Ongoing communication through email, text messaging, and phone support is included throughout your training package so you never feel like you’re navigating the process alone.

  • Human coaching - This work is about supporting you too. Living with a fearful dog can feel emotionally exhausting at times. My goal is to provide encouragement, understanding, and practical guidance so you feel supported and empowered throughout the journey toward lasting change.
